<i>
"Ask them what kind of classes they are taking, what they like about their major, what they don’t like about it."</i>

I actually hate when people ask me about my major and classes. I guess I can be considered an atypical English major, one who is already too far in obtaining her degree to change her major.

When people ask me what classes I'm taking, how do they respond? They say, "Oh..." or try to find something nice to say to act as if my taking classes unrelated to the "real world" is respectable.

It's just sad that some employers weed out prospective employees by major. I know many companies explicitly state what majors they want, therefore leaving the English majors in the dust!

I did no poo for...I'd guess about six months, it was a couple years ago so hard to remember. I have long, fine hair (actually looks kind of like yours) and found the baking soda & apple cider vinegar worked pretty well together. It was so cool to get over those first few weeks and discover how wavy (and not frizzy) my hair was when I wasn't using shampoo. Unlike you, though, I wound up giving it up because of travel...I went into the Peace Corps and for a few months used shampoo bars (this: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/J-R-Liggetts-Old-Fashioned-Bar-Shampoo/dp/B001E12ELW" rel="nofollow">J.R. Liggett's Old-Fashioned Bar Shampoo), which I think are about the gentlest "shampoo" you can use. Didn't go so well with the balkan water, but I'm looking forward to experimenting with no poo when I'm back in the States in a few months. It's cool to read about someone else doing this successfully!

This is SO great, Ash! I'm very proud of you and it is a big accomplishment. I'm still at that place where I can't imagine running the distance/time that you mentioned here. I want to, though! Thanks for proving it can be done. :)

Congratulations on doing so well in the race! I've been thinking about signing up for a race to motivate me to finally finish Couch to 5K, but I haven't found one yet. I'm going to keep looking though. You're definitely an inspiration! Love the red flannel too :)

That sounds like an amazing race! My next one is at the end of March for April Fool's Day... that should be interesting. Good luck on your 10K!

Brilliant well done. My first race was a 5k halloween race where we all ran at night, dressed up (see British ppl do make the effort!) through the woods where they had bands dressed up as skeletons. I LOVED it but cant see how any other race can top that (my time was 34 mins so you were way better than me ;)

My next one is a 10k race in edinburgh in May which I am slowly building up to. Hopefully it should be good.
